General Information for St. Paul

For those that are looking to find an LCMS church that primarily offers Traditional Lutheran Services you have found a home! We use the liturgy of The Lutheran Hymnal(Red Hymnal) and alternately sing hymns from both the TLH and Lutheran Worship (Blue Hymnal). St. Paul was founded in 1900 and primarily serves the Wallis, East Bernard, Simonton, and Fulshear Texas area. Several families travel from distant parts of the Houston area as well. We have a fellowship time after each service were the congregation and visitors can meet over a cup of coffee and a treat to talk. We are a small congregation but behave like a welcoming family. We hope this sounds like a place where you would like to come worship Christ and get to know us.

We are currently in Vacancy at St. Paul. Our Pastor of nearly 28 years retired for health reasons,  but we have been blessed to have a variety of great Pastors providing for our needs each Sunday. These Pastors are requested through the district pulpit supply list to fill in while we are in vacancy. We are thankful that so many experienced and gifted pastors have placed their names on this list.

The church is operating normally. Sunday Services, all programs, Sunday school, Adult Bible class and other church functions continue as they have in the past while we continue our journey to calling a new pastor for St. Paul.

The call committee’s work will continue as we move through the prescribed call process. This committee assembled a short list and interviewed several pastors but one accepted a Vacancy position and the other declined our call. While this may be a time of concern for our members, it should also be looked at as an opportunity to expand the congregation in new directions and move forward. We have requested a fresh list of Pastor candidates and will continue our search.

Please check back  – I will post updated information as it becomes available.

Come visit St. Paul and worship with us!

Blessings!
